    Dream after Dream is an album filled with mainly instermental songs, with just a few that have vocals. Different from what they were doing in 80,closer to the Journey sound before Steve Perry was in the group.

    This album is a dramatic departure (pardon the pun) from music Journey was producing in the 1980s. It is mostly instrumental music with only two or three songs on the album containing lyrics sung by Steve Perry. These lyrical songs were left-overs ...from the Departure album sessions. This was also the final studio album appearance for Greg Rollie as keyboardist for the group. If you like the typical hard-rock Journey sound, chances are you probably would not like this album, but if you don't mind something from the group which parallels nothing else they ever did, you might enjoy it. Many of the songs were recorded using a full orchestra with a strong emphasis on string sections. Neal Schon's father was a key factor in the group's involvement with this Japanese film soundtrack.
